APIGAT 2.5MG TABLET

 Introduction:

Apigat 2.5mg tablet contains the active ingredient Apixaban. This medicine is used to treat and prevent blood clots in patients with various conditions.

Before you start treatment with this medicine, tell your doctor if there are any bleeding disorders, bleeding currently, or a blood clot.

Inform your doctor if there are any conditions that could cause blood clots, such as a liver disease or immune disorder.

If you have an allergy to Apixaban, do not take this medication.

Uses of Apigat 2.5mg tablets:

Adults can use Apigat 2.5mg tablets for:

  • Deep vein thrombosis is: To prevent blood from clotting after hip or knee replacement surgery
  • Patients with irregular heartbeats (atrial fibrillation) are advised to prevent blood clots from forming. Systemic embolism can be caused by blood clots that travel to the brain. Stroke can lead to death.
  • Pulmonary embolism is the treatment of blood clots within your lungs.

How Apigat 2.5mg tablets work:

The 2.5mg Apigat tablet prevents blood clots by preventing Factor Xa from forming. This is vital for blood clotting.

Interactions with other drugs

Before you start treatment with Apigat 2.5mg tablets, tell your doctor. These medicines may interact with this medicine:

  • Antifungal medicines (ketoconazole etc.)
  • Antiviral medicines (ritonavir etc.)
  • Enoxaparin, etc. are medicines that reduce blood clotting.
  • Anti-inflammatory medications (acetylsalicylic acids, etc.)
  • Antidepressants
  • Hypertension medications or heart problems, eg. ( Diltiazem).
  • Epilepsy or seizure medication
  • Tuberculosis medicines (e.g. Rifampicin)
