CELLCEPT 500MG TABLET
Introduction:
Cellcept tablet contain the active substance mycophenolate mofetil. It is an immunosuppressant drug used to prevent and treat organ rejection in patients receiving allogeneic, kidney, heart, or liver transplants. It is indicated in combination with other immunosuppressants to prevent rejection of the transplanted organ.
Tell your doctor right away if you notice any signs of fever, sore throat, bleeding, or stomach ulcers. Talk to your doctor before getting vaccinated with live vaccines. After an organ transplant, the body responds with an aggressive immune response as it recognizes the antigens of the transplanted organ as foreign antigens. Therefore, treatment with immunosuppressive drugs is required after organ transplantation to prevent organ rejection.Immunosuppressants increase the risk of skin cancer. Limit
your sun exposure, wear protective clothing, and use a sunscreen with a high
SPF.
Uses of Cellcept
500mg Tablet:
Prevention of organ rejection after organ transplant (liver,
kidney or heart)
Extend the survival of the transplanted organ.
Prevention and treatment of acute and chronic
graft-versus-host disease in patients undergoing hematopoietic stem cell
transplantation.
How Cellcept 500 mg
Tablet works:
Cellcept 500mg
tablet gets converted to its active form known as mycophenolic acid and
suppresses the production of T and B cells, decreases cell-mediated immune
responses and builds up of antibodies.
Interactions with
other drugs:
Tell your doctor about all medicines you are taking or have
taken before treatment.
