JAKAVI 5MG TABLET
Introduction:
Jakavi tablet are a targeted therapy that contains the active substance ruxolitinib. It is used to treat myelofibrosis, a rare blood cancer. Myelofibrosis is a bone marrow disease in which the bone marrow is replaced by scar tissue, leading to a lack of normal blood cells and a significant enlargement of the spleen.
Jakavi 5 mg tablet is also used to treat polycythemia vera in people who have not been successfully treated with an anticancer medicine, hydroxyurea. Polycythemia is a bone marrow disorder in which the bone marrow produces too many blood cells, resulting in thicker blood and reduced size of the spleen.
This medicine is not recommended for adolescents and children under 18 years of age. Do not drink grapefruit juice while taking this medicine. This can affect the amount of medicine in your blood. Talk to your doctor before taking Jakavi 5 mg Tablet if you have an infection, kidney disease, liver disease, tuberculosis or skin cancer.

How Jakavi 5 mg Tablet works:
Jakavi 5mg tablet prevents the abnormal growth and multiplication of blood cells by inhibiting the enzymes JAK1 and JAK2 (Janus Associated Kinase).
Interactions with other drugs:
Before treatment, tell your doctor about all medicines you are taking or are taking.
